About the Blancharde Room

The Blancharde Room is named in memory of The Revd Hilary Blancharde and her husband Brian, who both passed into eternal glory within five months of each other in 2022.  Hilary was an assistant priest here at Holy Trinity from 2010.  She and her husband Brian - who spent over twenty years in missionary work in Africa and India - were influential in the life of the community of Holy Trinity, championing issues of social justice and tackling poverty. Brian was a devout Christian; good fun and a serious scholar of history.  Mother Hilary was a kind, compassionate priest, who took an interest in the people among whom she ministered, always giving time to listen and share good counsel.  By naming this room, intended for counselling, learning and encouragement, the Blancharde Room, the deeply compassionate and committed pastoral support which Hilary and Brian Blancharde gave to Bristol and Horfield in particular will be honoured and remembered.
