NOTICES FOR THE WEEK

Our links with Horfield Primary School, our Church school, are very good indeed. But if you would like to help strengthen them still further, and give some time, possibly each week during term time, to sit and read with some of the children, please have a chat with Lisa (07799 883790).

Could you spare an hour and a half once a fortnight to befriend an isolated asylum seeker or refugee in Bristol? Sam Sayer of B.FRIEND is looking for new volunteers who would like to befriend someone from another culture and show God’s love practically to those on the margins. Befriending will involve listening, helping with English and spending time enjoying Bristol together. NEW befriending training runs for four consecutive Thursday evenings starting on 23rd February. On-going support and supervision is also given. Contact Sam: sam@b-friend.org.uk /07759 293884.

.

Would you like to sponsor the floodlighting of the church on Saturdays, Sundays and Festival Days as a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion or anniversary? The church will not be lit at weekends unless it has been sponsored. Cost £5 per night. Contact Judith Claypoole on 962 4047.

Lent Programmes will be out next Sunday: meanwhile please sign up for the SOUP GROUPS and / or the ECUMENICAL LENT GROUPS at the back of church. (You can sign for a soup group either in church, or by filling in a form and returning it to Fr John). Please let Fr John know if you would like to have a mass in your house oneTuesday evening during Lent
