NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
Do you have a bit of spare time on Saturday morning? If so, there is a new group to come to once a month, as and when you like
THE SATURDAY CAFE will begin on Saturday 11th September at 10.00 a.m. in church, and then on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
This is for anyone who would like to come to a short informal act of worship with prayer, aloud or in silence; a chance to respond briefly to a short reading; with music of various traditions in a peaceful setting.
All this will last about half an hour, followed by coffee and cake for those who would like to stay.
For more information please have a word with Helen Hinksman.
The Traidcraft Christmas catalogue is now available for cards/wrapping gifts and Christmas cake ingredients too! Please pick up your catalogue in the hall after the service.
The Church Hall committee is looking to recruit a new caretaker/cleaner for the hall. If anyone is interested please contact Paul Wilson on 07775 792 517. This is a paid position with flexible working hours.
Bristol City Council is proposing to sell off the field behind the Church Hall for the construction of 72 dwellings, on the highly dubious basis that the field is little used other than by dog-walkers. The proposals can be found at http://www.bristol.gov.uk/ccm/cms-service/stream/asset/?asset_id=3443126. The council are asking for comments by 5pm on 29 October 2010: e-mail bfd@bristol.gov.uk, or write to: Site allocations (CD/BH), FREEPOST BS6529, Bristol BS1 5BR.
The relevant piece of land is referenced as BSA0406 Park to East of Concorde Lodge (Wellington Hill Playing Field)
