Christ invites us into his presence (stand)

The Lord be with you And also with you
Lift up your hearts We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God It is right to give thanks and praise

We thank you, O God, that you have poured out your love giving birth to our universe and our world. You created us male and female in the image of your glory. You bring us through the wilderness of life, nourishing us with the manna of your tender love and with water from the rock of your salvation. You have sent your Son to tread the path before us and to call us forward into his divine humanity. And so, with the angels who surround us and the saints who accompany us, we join in the eternal harmony of earth and heaven:
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord: holy is the Lord God almighty; (twice)
who was, and is, and is to come: holy, holy, holy is the Lord.

We remember with thanksgiving that on the night before he died Jesus had supper with his disciples. He took bread, gave thanks, and shared it with them, saying: “Take this and eat it: this is my Body, given for you: do this that I may be with you afresh.”

After supper, Jesus took the cup of wine. He thanked you, gave it to his friends, and said “All of you, drink from this cup: this is my blood, the new promise of God’s love: do this that I may be with you afresh.”

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is the Lord: Jesus is the Lord God almighty.

who was, and is, and is to come: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is the Lord.

So we remember the love Jesus poured out for us in his living and in his dying; and the new life that sprang from the rock of his tomb. Send your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts so that, with all who share his Body and Blood, we too may be filled with your life and your glory.

Give your blessing to all for whom we now pray (brief pause) and all who have died (brief pause). Make us one with Mary and all your saints, that we may live as the people of God and the disciples of Christ. Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, O Father Almighty, now and always and through the ages of ages. Amen.
