Eucharistic Prayer - CHRISTIAN AID

The Lord be with you And also with you
Lift up your hearts We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God It is right to give thanks and praise

We thank you, Father, for the creation of our world, and for our common humanity in Jesus Christ with all your children. We thank you for the calling of your holy church, to be a sign of the coming unity of all people and nations. And so, united with the angels and saints, and with all your people in heaven and on earth, we say together:
Holy, holy, holy ....

Father, we remember that on the night before he died Jesus had supper with his friends. He took bread, gave thanks, and shared it with them, saying: “Take this and eat it: this is my Body, given for you: do this that I may be with you afresh.”

After supper, Jesus took the cup of wine. He thanked you, gave it to his friends, and said “All of you, drink from this cup: this is my blood, the new promise of God’s love: do this that I may be with you afresh.”

Praise to you, Lord Jesus:
Dying you destroyed our death; Rising you restored our life; Lord Jesus, come in glory!

So, Father, we remember the love Jesus showed on the cross and the glory he revealed when he rose from the dead. Send your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts that, with all who share his Body and Blood, we too may be filled with your life and your glory.

Send your blessing on all for whom we now pray; for the people of Ethiopia; for all who suffer with HIV and AIDS; for all children who have no mother or father; for the work of Christian Aid. And we pray for all who have died. Make us one with Mary and all your saints, that, walking hand in hand with them, we may live as the people of God and the disciples of Christ. Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, O Father Almighty, now and always and through the ages of ages. Amen.

Let us pray for the fulfilment of God’s kingdom of justice, peace, and unity in the words the risen Saviour has given us:
Our Father, who art in heaven: hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Alleluia! Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:
Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia!

Going Out After Communion:

Show us, good Lord, how to be frugal, till all are fed; how to weep, till all can laugh; how to be meek, till all can stand in pride; how to mourn, till all are comforted; how to be restless, till all live in peace; how to claim less, till all find justice.

Then exchange churchwardens.
