Horfield Parish Church

History of our church - Statement of Offerings 1845

In 1841 the population of the Parish is recorded as 620 including children. Whilst the majority would have been farm workers, most probably had "Tied Cottages", but with wages no more than 5s (25p) per week; and yet they could afford to give a total of just over £1 per week to their Parish Church.
