Horfield Parish Church

History of our church - Introduction and dedication

This Collection of artifacts and photographs has been accumulated over several years from various sources both within and without the Parish and is presented as a tribute to all those dedicated priests who have served the Parish so faithfully over the years.

It is presented, so far as is possible, in chronological order whilst the details in the appended notes are believed to be historically accurate. However, details of any errors or omissions and other criticisms, together with any additional material which could be added would be appreciated, and should be forwarded to the Honorary Parish Archivist at the Parish Office.

The copyright of the included material is vested with the Parochial Church Council.

Please pray that the church, which sits in the geographical centre of the parish, may be a symbol of the presence of God within the community.

Pray for those who themselves pray in the church within the daytime.

Give thanks to God for the Oxford Movement tradition, of devotion and prayer here and for all who make up our congregations.

Pray for new initiatives to relate the congregation more vitally to the Parish and to relate Horfield's parishioners more vitally to the Church.

Pray for all the faithful departed who have loved and worshipped in this holy place over the centuries and for yourself to be worthy to follow in their footsteps.
